Sick Little Boy

This week was not so fun for David. He has had a cold all week long. On Thursday we had the Headrick's over for dinner. Katie told me that Riley was sick but David was sick too so they came over and we had lots of fun together. Well Katie called on Friday to tell me that they took Riley to the doctor and found out that she had pink eye. David seemed fine but I was watching him closely to make sure he really didn't get it. Saturday night David waking up in the middle of the night and he feels really hot so I take his temp. Its 100.4. So I gave him medicine and we go back to sleep. The fever is gone in the morning but around 11:00am he had some gunk in his eye so I cleaned it and 2 hours later there was a lot more. So we called the after-hours line on base and they sent us off base to get him checked out. The doctor comes in and checks him out. Yes he has pink eye but he also has an ear infection in both ears plus 2 teething blisters on his gums from molars trying to get through his gums!

So now my poor guy has amoxicillin twice a day to take care of the ears and eyes from the inside out, ear numbing drops, orajel for the blisters on his gums, saline solution to keep his nose clear, a solution to clean his eyes, then Motrin and Tylenol to help with the fever and pain.

After we got back from the doctors office we fed him and gave him all of the stuff he needed and cleaned him up and then put him to bed. He slept for a good 6 hours or so. I had to wake him up around 8pm and the poor kid couldn't open his eye cause there was so much gunk in it.

So that has been our focus and adventure this week and it will continue into the next. On a lighter note we have been in our place for a year and can start painting and other projects to make it feel like ours instead of a big white box we live in. And it is getting warm! I am so excited for the summer! Everyone should come visit and go camping with us!!!
